Here we are downloading Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 ISO image to a storage pool on a KVM server.
This guide assumes you have a user account on your KVM server with
sudo privileges. The example KVM server used here is named
ubuntu-mockup. All of the shell commands given in this guide are executed on
ubuntu-mockup unless indicated otherwise
The official Ubuntu Server download link is http://releases.ubuntu.com/16.04.3/ubuntu-16.04.3-server-amd64.iso
There are several ways to get this download stored in our KVM ISO storage pool. We use the most direct method and have the remote server download to itself.
sudo wget http://releases.ubuntu.com/16.04.3/ubuntu-16.04.3-server-amd64.iso -P /var/lib/libvirt/iso
Now that you have an ISO install disk, how about creating a dynamic disk to install it?
